The new Junior Research Group, Coral Climatology, was established in October 2018 and is based at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) in Bremen, Germany. We are an international research group focused on the investigation of past global changes. We use biogeochemical methods and techniques to extract climate and oceanographic information from massive tropical surface corals as an archive of climate and environmental change similar to tree-ring and ice-core studies.
